Real Betis have officially announced that due to a relegation release clause in his contract, they have parted ways with Danish international goalkeeper, Stephan Andersen.
Having arrived at the club last summer amidst high expectations, Danish international keeper Stephan Andersen was seen as one of the key signings by Real Betis last summer.
Over the course of what has been a disastrous season for the Andaluz club, in which Andersen was far from happy with sharing the number one spot with Guille Sara, eventually he was loaned out to Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles, during the January transfer window.
Following meetings with Andersen and his representatives on Wednesday, Real Betis have formally announced that the contract of the Dane has now been terminated, due to a relegation release clause.
Guille Sara will also return to Club Atlético Rafaela, after Real Betis decided not to take up their option to make his move permanent. This leaves them with Antonio Adán, who has claimed a firm grip on the goalkeeping spot since his arrival, along with backup from youngster Pedro López, who recently extended his contract.
