English Championship side Middlesbrough have officially announced the signing of Kike García from Real Murcia, as the Spanish influence continues to grow at the club.

Middlesbrough have announced the capture of 24-year-old striker Kike from Real Murcia, with the player set to link up with the squad at Marbella, where they will be travelling as part of their pre-season schedule.

A number of La Liga sides had been strongly linked with Kike over recent weeks, after the striker enjoyed an excellent season in the Segunda with Real Murcia, scoring 23 goals in 41 matches.

This is the second signing of the summer for Middlesbrough and also the second Spaniard, having already brought in goalkeeper Tomás Mejías from Real Madrid, who was well known to manager Aitor Karanka.

Kike joined the youth system at Real Murcia as an 18-year-old, making his first-team début away at Celta Vigo in the Segunda, towards the end of the 2008-2009 season. His first goal came in the penultimate game of that campaign, at home against Salamanca. He went on to make 120 appearances in all competitions for the club, whilst also scoring a total of 34 goals, with the most recently concluded season proving to be his most prolific.

Athletic Club Bilbao have announced that left-back Enric Saborit will spend the upcoming season on loan at Real Mallorca, guaranteeing a place int he squad for Jon Aurtenetxe.

In Ernesto Valverde’s first press conference of the preseason, the Athletic Club Bilbao manager revealed that several players would have to leave the club this summer due to overcrowding, and left-back Enric Saborit was believed to be one of the players that was informed that he would be sent on assignment.

On Wednesday afternoon, Athletic Club officially announced that they had reached an agreement with Segunda side Real Mallorca over the assignment of Saborit, who will join the club on a season-long loan spell.

As of now, it is unknown if Real Mallorca were given the option to buy the 22-year-old at the end of the season.

With Saborit out of the squad, Jon Aurtentxe’s place in the first team has been guaranteed after spending last season on loan at Celta Vigo, where he earned his place in this year’s squad according to Ernesto Valverde.

The 22-year-old has only played in a handful of matches for Athletic’s first team, but the club hopes that the young defender will gain valuable experience at Real Mallorca.

Saborit’s contract with Athletic is set to expire in 2016.

CD Leganés recently achieved promotion from the Segunda B to the Segunda Division and following their 10 seasons in the lower division, the fans are hoping to bring back one of the most famous players in their club’s history, Camerooian international striker, Samuel Eto’o.

Immediately following his signing with Real Madrid from the Kadji Sports Academy in 1997, a lanky 16-year-old Samuel Eto’o was immediately loaned out to CD Leganés, a small club in an even smaller town (186,066 in 2009) on the outskirts of Madrid, in order to get his first taste of Spanish football and adjust to life in a new country and because he wasn’t able to train with the first team because he was a minor. EtooLeganes2 Eto’o scored just four goals in his 30 appearances with the club, but the experiences served him well as he soon made his name two years later at Mallorca, where he would make a name for himself and eventually become a global superstar and becoming the highest-paid player in the world when he joined Anzhi Makhachkala in 2011. After one year at Chelsea during the 2013-14 season, Eto’o’s contract was not renewed and after he tweeted a photo on his official twitter account cheering on Leganes as they fought for promotion.

“I’ll always be with Leganés. I grew up here. It was the first time I got paid.”

Following Eto’o’s show of support for the club in front of his nearly 500,000 twitter follows, the fans have rallied and begun a grassroots internet campaign to bring the 33-year-old back to his first professional club as they fight for promotion to the first division for the first time in the club’s history. The fans are using the hashtag #EtooVuelveAlLega (Eto’o come back to Lega) in hopes of coecering the four-time African Footballer of the Year to come, and probably earn the same wages, he earned at the club 16 years ago.

Lo primero agradecer al autor del post el curro que se ha pegado. Y lo segundo, viendo las incorporaciones que están haciendo el resto de equipos, sobre el papel son mejores jugadores los que estamos trayendo con bastante diferencia, aunque eso luego haya que demostrarlo en el campo. En menor medida, las incorporaciones del Mallorca y Alavés no me parecen malas, aunque se les están yendo jugadores importantes.

En teoría tenemos, hasta ahora, los mejores nombres de la categoría, cuando vaya avanzando la liga veremos si tenemos los mejores hombres. La teoría de los nombres la rompió el año pasado el Eibar y en primera el Atlético de Madrid. En esto del deporte, cualquiera que sea, como no aprendas a respetar al rival, a ser humilde y a trabajar al límite, cualquiera te deja sentado de culo. Nosotros sabemos mucho de eso de ganarle al Madrid y al Barcelona y perder la semana siguiente con el 3º por la cola. Los cohones hay que echarlos siempre, independientemente del rival, por respeto a tu gente y a la institución, actuando así y solo así casi seguro que ascendemos con esta plantilla. Actualizado, con un buen número de fichajes, el Alcorcón el que más se mueve (normal porque se le ha ido también muchísimo)

Hay que ver con la que dieron con Saul berjon y nada de nada hay sigue en el Murcia.
