    Once upon a time, there was a city in Spain which dreamed about hosting the Olympic Games in the future. It wasn’t Madrid or Barcelona; it was Seville. A Stadium was built there to step up the candidature. However, Athens got the privilege, and La Cartuja Stadium suffered an early decline.

    The IAAF World Championship in 1999 has been the biggest sporting event this place has ever hosted. Sevilla F.C. and Real Betis agreed to use La Cartuja as an eventual base for their home games. But the fans were against this option, and the stadium just received sixteen professional football matches… in fifteen years.

    Music events have become the biggest source of earnings for this €120 million construction. Even the Davis Cup Final was played here twice, but what about football? Will it come back here again? Check out our special report to know a little more about this fantastic -and lonely- place:
