  • Betis fans vent their anger af ter Copa Del Rey exit

Real Betis fans showed their unhappiness with the current state of the club as they sprayed graffiti at the training ground, labelling the players mercenaries and calling for the owner to go.
The Copa del Rey might not be a big deal to many fans in Spain but to Real Betis supporters it is clearly not to be taken lightly.

Los Verdiblancos were knocked out of the competition last night after they failed to score against Real Mallorca in the second-leg and today fans have showed their displeasure at the result.

The training ground was tagged with various graffiti that labelled the players, amongst other things, as mercenaries, and also called for Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, the owner, to go.

Whilst the messages were removed by the club, it is a clear reminder of the poor situation that Betis find themselves in after a mini-revival in November.

The club have picked up just four points from the last 24 on offer and they find themselves just two places above the relegation zone, in addition to being out of the Copa Del Rey.

Worryingly, they do not look like signing anyone to bolster their squad before the transfer window closes and it is no secret that they have a shortage of strikers.

The draw last night will have hurt fans more considering Mallorca are one of the worst sides in the league at the moment and the home side caused them minimal problems.

The concern for coach Paco Chaparro is that his side are in real danger of slipping into the relegation zone and with Sevilla, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Villarreal coming up, they will need to improve very quickly.

On top, all the other cup draws were really exciting, with a lot of good football, and the losing teams showed that they really wanted to go ahead in the cup.
    Betis play was miserable though.
And besides, Sevilla has passed, so that makes the whole situation a kind of bloody déjà vu...
