  • Chaparro doesn't expect new additions at Betis

The Betis coach has said that despite the clubs poor league position, he doesnt want any new players to join the club in January.
Real Betis find themselves in a dire situation in the table, sinking to 16th place in the Primera Division and their season has sunk dramatically downhill in recent weeks due to a series of poor results.

Coach Paco Chaparro has came under increasing pressure regarding his position, and despite recent claims that new faces may join to bolster his squad, he now believes that his current squad is capable of turning things around.

Striker Ricardo Olivera and Victor Obinna were thought to be on their way to Andalusia, but Chaparro insists, "The team is not as bad as people are saying. Maybe we should have more points, but that has already happened and we must concentrate on moving forward.

"We hope to fix this situation as soon as possible."

    Mistakes

A Javier Camunas goal for Recreativo condemned Betis to yet another defeat and Chaparro admitted that his team are making unnecessary errors all over the pitch, leading to conceding goals.

He said, "This is what happens when players continue to make mistakes. We are losing the ball too often, and we did not play well in the first half."

He then addressed the issue of new additions. "Do I expect to have any new players in January? No," he said. "It is up to the chairman. I do not know."
