Spanish side Real Betis have reportedly thrown their name into the hat to sign Red Bull Salzburg striker Marc Janko this winter.
Real Betis might have made plenty of additions to their squad in the summer, but it looks as though they could dip into the market once again in winter.
Despite remarks from the president that they will not be spending any money this year, rumours have persisted that they will be making some signings, and AS believes Marc Janko could be the man they are after.
The Austrian striker currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg and has a fine goal scoring record lately, grabbing 30 goals in just 21 matches.
That prolific tally is one reason why he has sprung to the attention of many European clubs this winter, and Betis are the latest to be interested apparently.
At just 25 he is believed to be a player for the future as well as the present, and two of the biggest names looking at him are apparently Tottenham Hotspur and Blackburn Rovers.
Along with them, Racing Santander, Middlesbrough and Deportivo La Coruña are potential destinations, and with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar gone, so are Ajax.
However, there is no doubt that Real Betis is an attractive destination at the moment, with the side being built to grow substantially in the next few years.
For their part, Salzburg have denied that the player will be leaving this winter, but should he not, it seems highly unlikely he will stay around past the summer.
Janko has been described by his coach, Co Adriaanese, as the 'perfect forward', and he is likely to cost a reasonable amount should anyone manage to prise him from the Austrian side.
