Coach Paco Chaparro may have had designs on adding to his squad, but he has been categorically told that there will be no money available and that he needs to improve results with what he has.
Real Betis will not be buying any players in January after spending their annual budget in the summer, meaning that coach Paco Chaparro will not be able to land the central defender or forward that he wants.
The Andalucian outfit's sporting director, Manuel Momparlet, has made the revelation amid rumours that the club are looking to sign certain players to bolster their side next month.
After spending around €27 million on Sergio García, Emaná, Mehmet Aurelio, Juanma, Neslon and Monzón, Betis have no more money to spend and Momparlet has decided to go public with the news.
"There is no money for new signings because the budget was exhausted in the summer," AS quote him as saying.
Momparlet has also not been that impressed with the performances of the team after the summer outlay, although he did add that at least Betis were not in the drop zone like they had been in the last three seasons.
"I think the squad is good enough and I believe that we should be further up the table," he continued.
