Real Betis wants Hugo Almeida

According to reports in the Spanish press, Real Betis are looking at Hugo Almeida as a possible replacement for Mariano Pavone this winter.
Real Betis might be on the rise in La Liga at the moment but there is no doubt that Los Verdiblancos are in need of a striker this January to bolster their squad.

Mariano Pavone is currently their main man up top but he has picked up niggling injuries this season, leading the Spanish press to believe he could well be out in January, with another striker coming in to replace him.

Sport.es reports that Betis are interested in signing Werder Bremen forward, Hugo Almeida, for a possible fee of about €1 million.

This move seems more feasible considering the fact that there is believed to be interest from Atalanta for Pavone, and that would pave the way for a new striker and add funds to the kitty.

Paco Chaparro is believed to be a big fan of the height and power of Almeida, who has scored two times in the Bundesliga this year for Bremen.

The Portugal international has not always been a regular with the German side but he has got his fair share of minutes this campaign.

Another transfer story concerning Betis is a possible move for Mehmet Aurelio, who this week declared himself happy at the club but said he doesn't know what the future holds.

It is believed that his former club Fenerbahce are interested in bringing him back to Turkey and it would be no surprise were he to move in January.

I think Almeida is a good player, but there are better options. Almeida is not the player we need, we need a faster forward who can make his own goals and not depending of the team

Chaparro says that Almeida isn´t the player that the team needs because he hasn´t too speed. So, the team will search other player that plays as Ricardo Oliveira. In my opinion Hugo is a good player y I want he in Betis.
