Arzu and Damía return for Real Betis, but Pavone are out.

Real Betis should be able to welcome back Arzu and Damía for their clash with Atlético Madrid this weekend, but Mariano Pavone will most likely miss the match through injury.
Real Betis might have been in good form lately but they will be tested to the full this weekend as they travel to the Spanish capital to take on Atlético Madrid.

Los Rojiblancos have been in inspired form at home this season but Real Betis should at least be able to welcome back a few injured players for the clash.

Marca reports that both Damía and Arzu will able to return to the side, even though the pair did not train with the rest of the team today.

They are both finishing recovery work after injuries and similar to Achille Emana, arguably the best player at the club this season, they should return to full training tomorrow.

The bad news is that Mariano Pavone will miss the clash, barring any last minute surprise, as he is failing to shake off a hip injury.

Along with Pavone, Real Betis will be without Edu, David Odonkor and Mark González, all out for the long-term, and also Xisco and José Mari.

Real Betis can win in the Calderón - Nelson

Real Betis defender, Nelson, has said that his side can triumph in the Vicente Calderón this Sunday, but that they are up against a great team in Atlético Madrid.
Real Betis might be in good form at the moment but Los Verdiblancos will have to be at their best if they are to take anything from the Vicente Calderón on Sunday.

Atlético Madrid have looked dangerous at home this campaign and Real Betis defender Nelson, praised the capital side, but didn't write off the chances of his team.

"We are preparing for Sunday like with any game, we can win at the Calderón," he told Marca.

"We know the strong points of Atlético but we will try to counteract them. They are a great team but we want to beat them."

Nelson played alongside Atlético Madrid star Simao at his former club Benfica and today said that he is a 'great player, just like [Diego] Forlán and [Sergio] Agüero, who forms part of a good attack.'

The right-back went on to acknowledge that his side have fallen foul of too many counter-attacks this year and that they need to 'correct that for the future', before realising they are still a work in process.

"We are a team in construction that will improve with every game we play," he mused.

"At home we have lost many points and it would be better to be more comfortable though."

It will be a very difficult match for Real Betis this Sunday. Atlético de Madrid is in a better state of mind (and form) than a month ago, Kun Agüero needs to make a good match to vindicate himself and Forlán is almost playing at full throttle... Furthermore, the worst enemy of Atlético, the media pressure, will be relieved this weekend because the most interest of media will be focused on the Barça-Real match.

But difficult doesn't mean impossible. Fortunately Real Betis is able to win in any match this season.

Against Real Madrid? No, the Real Madrid, play with Barcelona. The Atletico de Madrid, is the best Word Club, for me.

Well, we lost 2-0. I think it's obvious that we need a striker and a central defender. And next match without Emana and Mehmet cause of suspension.
