Edu set for operation in Finland.
Real Betis forward Edu is set to undergo an operation next Monday in Finland on his injured left leg which should help him to recover around the Christmas break.
It's been a miserable start to the season for Real Betis and even worse for their star striker Edu, who recovered from one injury but then suffered a recurrence in the same area just a few weeks later.
The Brazilian is facing around two months out and is travelling to Finland to undergo an operation next Monday which should aid his recovery.
Speaking about the reasons for him travelling so far Real Betis doctor, Tomás Calero, said that they did not realise at first the extent of the injury and didn't want to make it worse.
"At first we thought it was one type of injury but after further tests we have seen that the fibrosis is large and although the injury is not too serious we do not want to cause him relapses," he declared.
"I believe that he should be fit before Mark González and Edu will be recovering for about six weeks, so we are talking about a return after the Christmas break."
Edu has been the highest scorer for Betis in the last two seasons and Los Verdiblancos will be desperate to see him return as soon as possible.
