Capi: Board should not have given Chaparro ultimatum.
It's been an awful start to the season so far for Real Betis but midfielder Capi says that the board should not have issued manager Paco Chaparro with an ultimatum.....
Betis were supposed to be a surprise package this year but so far the only surprising thing about Real Betis is how badly they have done in the league.
Los Verdiblancos are yet to win a game and are currently rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points from six encounters. Understandably the board have grown frustrated and have issued manager Paco Chaparro with an ultimatum which is believed to give him until the end of October/beginning of November to turn things around.
Speaking about the incident midfielder Capi, who has been at the club for over ten years, says that he does not think it was the right thing to do.
"There should not have been an ultimatium," he started, "Time ago Betis did not play like this, but the results are not arriving. Playing how we are though the victories will arrive."
"I did not think that I would entertain playing so much, but the happiness is not complete because it is not good to be so down," he mused.
If Betis are to turn things around then the next few weeks will be a good time to do it, with Mallorca their first opponents, then Osasuna and Deportivo La Coruña after that. Capi called on the fans and his team-mates not to worry if there is not a goal in the first five minutes though because he says 'a game can also be won at the end.'
