  • Chaparro defends forwards

    Chaparro defends misfiring forwards.

As Real Betis prepare for a daunting trip to the Camp Nou, coach Paco Chaparro has defended his attacking players who have yet to score so far this season.
Real Betis will head into round four of the new La Liga campaign as one of only two teams who have yet to win and yet to score a single goal.

As such, Chaparro is aware of the enormity of the task at hand when his team take on Barcelona today but he remains confident that his side will be able to end their goal drought.

“Barcelona have a team capable of beating anyone,” he said during a press conference, “but we are going there with the intention of playing a good game and doing the best we can.”

The veteran coach then acknowledged that his players have yet to find the back of the net, but he still defended them and the work that they are putting in.

“We have very capable players who can score such as Capi, Mehmet Aurélio, Sergio García and Mariano Pavone.

“He (Pavone) is putting in a lot of hard work because he has to rely on others to help him score, but we trust that the drought will end and he will be able to get a goal,” Chaparro explained.

The veteran coach finally pleaded for more time to allow his newly assembled squad to settle in.

“I know that some of the players are not yet at their maximum physical condition.

The problem is that when I make changes during a game, the players also have to switch positions and this disrupts the team. But we are slowly getting there,” he concluded.

    Respuesta: Chaparro defends forwards

I think the game was really impressive for our Betis, because we play much better than the last season,in front of a great team like Barça.
The problem was our team is not shot enough ,most of players are coming to Seville too late to be trained in good condition.
I hope Chaparro can works depth with this group,we,ll be patient.
    Regards and "too much Betis"
