This weekend's game is away at Girona at 5pm on Sunday. The hosts aren't a big club but lie second in the table after three wins and a draw, so will provide a tough test for Julio Velázquez's brittle side. The word is that Betis's young coach could well be for the chop if the side lose again - which is ridiculous, obviously - so there's more at stake than three points. At least the visitors, who will be without suspended Alfred N'Diaye, will once again be able to count upon the support of thousands of Catalan Béticos.

Re: Girona-Real Betis
Girona 1-3 Real Betis.
That's more like it - resultswise, at least. The verdiblancos started poorly and were a goal down after just 11 minutes, but gradually improved and were in front by half-time thanks to a Rubén Castro equaliser and an own goal. Rubén secured the points with 20 minutes to go, but not before several scares in defence. Incidentally, both the goals scored by Rubén - who now has five in five games - were made by Matilla, who is just starting to show encouraging glimpses of his undoubted talent. All in all, three handy points away at an in-form side.
Betis: Adán; Molinero, Perquis, Jordi Figueras, Casado; Xavi Torres, Matilla; Cejudo (Dani Ceballos, m. 79) Rubén Castro, Kadir (Pacheco, m. 60); Rennella (Chuli, m. 69).
Goals: 1-0, m. 11: Felipe Sanchón. 1-1, m. 21: Rubén Castro. 1-2, m. 27: Lejeune (og). 1-3, m. 70: Rubén Castro.
