Real Betis striker, Ruben Castro has been linked with several moves away from the recently relegated club and the Andalusian sides are quickly preparing for his potential exit by courting a striker from another recently relegated side, Osasuna’s Oriol Riera.
The journeyman striker was the breakout star in an otherwise forgettable season for Osasuna, scoring 14 goals of the total 32 goals Osasuna scored throughout the season, virtually their only attacking threat and according to Andalusian publication, ElDesmarque.com, the former La Masia graduate wouldn’t be opposed to a move from Pamplona.
However, Riera’s release clause stands at €2 million, but amid the club’s incredible debt of around €100 million, Osasuna have little bargaining power as they face certain bankruptcy, giving Betis room to negotiate.
Yet, Riera’s move to Andalusia would be dependent on Castro’s departure, as Malaga and Getafe have expressed interest but have not, at the time of publication, submitted acceptable offers for ‘El Tiburon.’
