  • Málaga pushing closer to a deal for Betis striker, Rubén Castro

Real Betis know they may have a struggle to keep striker Rubén Castro on their books, following their relegation to the Segunda, with Málaga making the strongest overtures for his signature this summer.

Rubén CastroAccording to Sevilla based sports portal, Estadio Deportivo, Málaga sporting director Mario Husillos has intensified his contacts with representatives of Real Betis striker, Rubén Castro, with the aim of convincing the player to make the short move down to the Costa del Sol this summer.

Málaga are reportedly keen and willing to meet the financial requirements of the player, thought to be around €1 million per season, although Rubén Castro is also believed to be requesting a three-year contract, in order to reach an agreement with Los Boquerones.

Once the finer details of personal terms have been agreed however, Málaga will then have to negotiate a transfer fee, in accordance with the valuations Real Betis have for the player, thought to be somewhere between €2 million and €3 million.

Although Rubén Castro has suffered an injury plagued season, amidst the difficult campaign that Real Betis endured and their subsequent relegation from the Spanish top-flight, he’s still shown he has a keen eye for goal.

Málaga and Husillos seem keen to tie up a deal as quickly as possible, aware that other clubs are also monitoring the situation carefully and have already made tentative enquiries.
