The Real Betis has announced the addition of Alexis Trujillo as new technical secretary of the entity waiting to hire an athletic director to head the project. The club have made a long overdue appointment to the technical department (responsible for signing players). Four years ago this would have been treated as fantastic news as Serra Ferrer was essentially Pepe Mel before Pepe Mel became Pepe Mel (if you know what I mean), but his tenure at Mallorca has been so disastrous that there have to be some doubts as to whether he still has the old magic. But it's certainly an interesting development.
