Re: Alexis Trujillo, new technical secretary Betis

The club have made a long overdue appointment to the technical department (responsible for signing players). Alexis Trujillo, who played for more than 200 times for Betis between 1993 and 2000, and then returned as coach Lorenzo Serra Ferrer's No. 2 between 2004 and 2006, is to be the new technical secretary, which is basically the second-in-command in this vital department. This is being taken as a sign that Serra Ferrer himself is going to return to the club in some capacity once he has managed to untangle himself from Mallorca, where he is the major shareholder.

Four years ago this would have been treated as fantastic news as Serra Ferrer was essentially Pepe Mel before Pepe Mel became Pepe Mel (if you know what I mean), but his tenure at Mallorca has been so disastrous that there have to be some doubts as to whether he still has the old magic. But it's certainly an interesting development.
