Real Betis’ training ground Luis del Sol was vandalised with a specific message intended for Brazilian centre-back, Paulao, who caused to errors that led to two Rayo Vallecano goals and then asked to be subbed out, much to the fan’s shock.

Following the match, Paulao admitted that the two errors and costing his team the match was too much to bear and that he was no longer able to continue with the match that ended with a score of 3-1, as Real Betis are one loss away from mathematical relegation.
The fans, however, were not satisfied with Paulao’s explanation and several ultras made their feelings known by tagging; “Cowardly Paulao” on the front gates of the training complex.
The other statements were targeted at the manager, Gabriel Calderon with “Calderon, what dignity?” and support for former manager, Pepe Mel, stating “Mel, yes.”‘
Paulao has been the victim of abuse from the Betis fans already this season, after the Brazilian was booked with a red card in their derby match against Sevilla, one in which his side lost and marked the beginning of the end for beloved manager, Pepe Mel.
