Real Betis’ Damien Perquis sidelined for five weeks with hamstring tear

Real Betis centre-back, Damien Perquis continues to be plagued by injury as the French-Polish international has now been ruled out of action for up to five weeks after tearing his left hamstring in Thursday evening’s 0-2 loss to cross-town rivals, Sevilla.

After 15 minutes into the Europa League tie, Perquis, in obvious discomfort, was substituted by Jose Antonio ‘Nono’ Delgado after indicating to the coaching staff that he was experiencing discomfort in his left hamstring.

Perquis then took a seat on the bench as he consulted with the medical staff.

On Friday morning, Perquis underwent a series of tests where it was determined that he had indeed torn the hamstring and would be out of action for five weeks.

Perquis had just returned to full-speed after a fractured jaw against Malaga forced him to miss months of the season, losing a substantial amount of weight and needing to undergo psychological treatment.
