Real Betis president, Miguel Guillen revealed that there is a “fear clause” in Leo Baptistão’s contract, that would require the club pay an addition fee to see their in-form striker play against his parent club this weekend.
In an interview with El Desmarque radio, Guillen revealed the clause and admitted that he wouldn’t rule out paying it, but would try to have it lowered just a bit.
“There is a clause. The amount was very important, but we’re trying to lower it and although at this point we don’t know if the player will be there, we must evaluate the cost.”
Baptistão has been one of several reasons for Real Betis’ turnaround in the past month. Scoring two goals and providing one assist in two of their past three matches, including one against cross-town rivals Sevilla, in last week’s Europa League derby.
