Sarabia: It’s going to be tough against Betis

Getafe attacking midfielder Pablo Sarabia knows the clock is ticking for Real Betis, but what matters most is that his own team can take points, when they travel to the Benito Villamarín on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s away trip to face Real Betis, Getafe attacking midfielder Pablo Sarabia admitted that it’s been surprising to see their opponents struggle this season, but noted with caution that they’ve looked in good form, in their last two outings.

“I think Betis have a great team, but for one reason or another, they’ve not been able to get many points this season. In their last two games though, at Villarreal and in the Europa League, they’ve done really well and they’re looking like they’re into a good run of form.”

Sarabia knows that with Betis fighting for their status in the Primera, the home fans at the Benito Villamarín will be an important factor, but also underlined that his own team would also find three points very handy right now.

“It’s going to be a very tough game for us and we’ll have to do our best, in order to win. They have incredible fans, who really get behind their players, even though things haven’t been going so well for them, whilst obviously they’re aware they really need to win. We also have an obligation to win, but there’s not exactly many bullets left to fire for Betis.”

Eleven games without a win has seen Getafe slide perilously close to the relegation zone and as such, Sarabia stressed that it’s about time his team claimed three points and turned things around.

“It’s a reality that the team is in a negative dynamic and we’ve got to change things for the better. The best way to do that is by getting the three points at Betis, so that we can push ourselves towards a more comfortable position, in the middle of the table.”
